2020 Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas While In Quarantine

Wow! Who would have ever thought that we would have to celebrate the special moments of this Mother’s Day with such care and caution.

Some places are still under quarantine while others are just now opening back up. Therefore, there’s this lingering worry of should we be staying in or going out this Mother’s Day.

Not to mention, I’m sure that if you don’t live with your mom, you’re afraid to really go around her for fear of getting her sick.

These are really unfortunate times and we can only hope that we can get through it all while still putting a smile on your mother’s face.

How Have You Celebrated Mother’s Day In The Past?

Mother’s Day is a day that everyone celebrates the love and appreciation of all the moms around, but most especially your own mother.

Since I don’t live in the same state as my mother or family, traditionally I would make this a time to go home and visit. For my mother to have me home and near on Mother’s Day was always more than enough of a gift for her.

Other times I would send a Mother’s Day card, flowers, gift cards, and anything else I figured she would love from jewelry to household appliances.

I’m sure these are the typical things that most of us do for our moms on Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day In Quarantine? Yes!

With such a strange climate that we are currently in, what can we do differently to show our love to our moms on this special occasion?

After gathering some much needed inspiration for some great ideas, and thinking outside the box, I came up with these 5 ways to let your mom know that you love her EVERYDAY, but most especially this Mother’s Day!

A Mother’s Day Video Dinner Date.

Order dinner from a place that you know she loves and have it delivered to her. You can have some delivered to you as well. Then the both of you can sit on video and eat dinner together just as if you were out at the restaurant.

This will make you feel better about keeping your mother safe at home, as people start to go back to their normal lives after quarantine.

Send A Box Of Sweet Thoughts & Treats.

Send a box of all the things you want to say and would like to do, and watch your mom open them up. Watch her read piece by piece all the sweet little things you wanted to say all while on a video call.

Things like for example; why you appreciate her so much and how much she means to you. You know, your feelings for her (sort of like reading a Mother’s Day card but done in a different way).

Keep in mind you can attach each thoughtful piece of your well thought out words to a gift, picture, or piece of her favorite candy.

A Mother’s Day Parade.

If you and your sibling live near you can give your mom her own personal parade. This is quite popular nowadays since everyone has been under quarantine.

Everyone in their own respectful cars with their own children. Drive by her home with music, signs and gifts; each car taking turns putting their cards and gifts in the driveway as your mother watches and cheers with appreciation.

This is to take precautionary measures as to make sure your mom doesn’t have to risk getting sick from being around the entire family. All of this while also sharing your love and dedication to making her smile on this day.

A Mother’s Day Paint & Sip Party.

Send your mother a canvas, paints, and bottle of wine or her favorite drink.

The two of you can sit and paint together in the comfort of both of your homes while having good fun conversation via video.

If you are into any kind of crafting you can try that with your mom while on video together.

I guarantee this would be a great surprise to her, a much noticed thoughtful gift.

A Mother’s Day Family Party Via Video.

Gather all of your siblings on a video call and read your mom the Mother’s Day cards you each bought for her (or if you sent them to her she can open them up and read the kind words from each of you).

This will also be a good time to spend time together even though you’re not actually together physically.

So take advantage and have drinks or play a game while everyone is there on video.

Video Platforms Save The Day.

Video technology really has shown if never before, that it is needed and was a huge help for everyone during these times.

It has done wonders, from giving people the ability to continue working their jobs, but from home, to children and students of all ages that are not traditionally used to being taught online getting thrusted into the world of online schooling. All of this while we have been in quarantine due to this virus everywhere.

Although it may not be our traditional plans or what we would like to do for Mother’s Day, we still want to show how much we love and appreciate everything our mothers do for us on a daily basis.

Happy Mother’s Day if you’re a mom!
